How to practice mindfulness by playing like a child

I'm just going to come out & say it: I love lego & I love puzzles. I have this weird competitive streak when it comes to word games. I am not competitive in any other area in my life, just word games. I find them relaxing. Do you know what else is relaxing (well for me anyway)? Completing a massive jigsaw puzzle. Haha, as I write this, I am laughing at how 'fun' I sound.

Living in the adult world can be tough from time to time. Having to deal with taxes, finances, relationships, complexities, jobs, health issues etc. Do you know who doesn't get bothered by all these things? Children! Do you know what else children get to do? Play!

For me, working on a jigsaw puzzle is a good way to get out of my adult head. I find it narrows my focus to the present, kind of like yoga or meditation.

I challenge you to reach in & channel your inner child. No matter how silly it feels or how stupid you might look. Perhaps maybe book a playdate with a friend & if nothing else, you might get a good few laughs out of it. So what are you waiting for?

Saira, you want to come over build some stuff with Lego again?

Until next time,
